Would be a neat car to have. Theres a husband and wife in town who has 4 ZR1's and attend about every Corvette function they can get to. For $12,000 it's a good deal, anything much over that and I would just go with a crate LS7 and be ahead in the power department and have more mods readily available and cheaper.

Pretty much. There are cams available and some other bolt ons, and you CAN get cranks, rods pistons etc but for the $$$ it's not worth it unless you're a die hard LT5 fan. But, a LS7 will walk all over a LT5 any day.

The "cool factor" of the LT5 is 10x that of the LS7. Plus, you can get the FACTORY twin turbo setup for the LT5
I know a guy with an LT5 motor. He bought a totally disassembled ZR1 from a local Indian here. I am only like 25% sure on this, but I think his is the twin turbo Callaway model.

Yeah it's sweet but I couldn't justify paying almost 20 grand for something thats easily beaten by something 7 grand less. Once again unless you are a ZR1/LT5 fanatic.

back when the LT5 first came out the crate engine from GM was like 25 grand. But what was said above is true, those engines are monsters and really hard to break from what I have heard and can go to the redline for a really long time

FACTORY twin turbo LT5? To my knowledge the only twin turbo Vette was a Callaway, and none were ZR1's. And none were built by Chevrolet..all were built by Callaway and sold through Chevy dealers, just like a Saleen.
Lingenfelter built a few with twin turbo's, none were sold through Chevy dealers to my knowledge.
