eagle cranks?
well i guess i should start off by telling you guys my problem. on my trip to atlanta this weekend i went to summit and got all the parts i needed for my engine rebuild. after we left summit i noticed that the eagle crank i had gotten had a part number that kinda made me curious. the number was 103523750, notice the last four numbers... look familiar? i questioned this to my grandfather because i needed a standard stroke crank for the rebuild and he said it was just a coincedence. got home and sure enough it was a stroker crank. now for the problem, well my grandfather called summit today and they fed him a load of crap about eagle doesnt make a standard stroke crank for an lt1. so i was wondering if the eagle crank part number 103523480 will work in a pretty much stock lt1?
any info would be greatly appreciated guys.

yeah i dont wanna have to buy new pistons and send all my stuff back to the machine shop thats why im keeping it the stock stroke.
but we called summit today and gave them the part number and they were like "oh they do make it" lmao. so the new crank should be here tomorrow im guessin. thanks for the responses guys.

You just ordered a lesser quality piece that is not balanced and even if you got them to balance it it would be poor because that is what they do. Someone here would have had a used stocker you would have been better off with.
The worst thing that can be said about a stocker is it is HEAVY.

so an eagle CAST crank (the ones for roughly $190 bucks) aren't near as good as the stockers?
how about the Scat brand cast crankshafts? are they as bad, or better?

well i couldve gotten the old one turned, but why use an old crank when u can just get a new one? as far as quality even if its a little less this isnt exactly a top fuel engine lol
and from what ive heard you dont have to get the assembly balanced with only the crank being changed to an eagle one.
that came from more than one machine shop and also my uncle who restores cars for a living.

You will have to balance any new crank unless it came balanced to your bobweight which Eagles don't anyway. Eagle makes three different 1 pc. RMS seal cranks in 3.750 stroke and I know they make one as a stock replacement as well. Remember the LT1 is internal in the front but external on the back if you are going to use the factory flywheel or flexplate.

I know that if I got a new crank I would go and have the rotating assembly balanced no matter what brand it was (esp. Eagle, Scat, CAT, etc)
