Throttle body?
I am looking at getting a new TB and was wondering if it is worth it. I live in CO so the alt already kills my car and it gets no air. Its pretty much stock ATM but have a few parts on order. I was wondering if they are worth doing to a somewhat stock car? Will I notice an power gains?
Thanks.
Thanks.

throttle body by itself wont do anything, you need to make sure you do the manifold and everything else. just because you put a bigger hole doesnt mean more will go through everything else. hope that helps a little

Well, if you went with a 58 you would have to port. But more importantly, you have to improve the output (exhaust) also. Just because you can shove more air in does not mean that you can shove more out unless you do something, cat back, whatever. It is a full system. I did mine one step at a time, cai, no improvement. cat back, no improvement. throttle body, she woke up.
Personally, I favor ported stock tbs. They were engineered for the car from the get go. The aftermarket ones were not, and do not have the engineering dollars to test everything out.
Note, these are just my opinions and experiences.

There are many mods I would go with before purchasing a TB.
If you don't have headers yet then save the money and put it towards a good set of headers.
They will do alot more than the TB will at this stage in your modifications.
I still have the stock TB on my car. Even though the LT1 manifold is ported and setup for a 58mm TB, this was done when it was plumbed for the direct port.
I will have one eventually but right now its still just a stock internal LT1 and I don't see the need for the big TB just yet.

That's why I like the BBK. It looks just like a stocker, and I bet is based on damn near the same casting design.
High altitude is where forced induction comes into play. Not everyone knows that turbos and super chargers were designed for aircrafts way back around WWI. The planes couldn't get the power they needed up in the high altitudes, and thus forced induction was born.
