Default LS1 nose to LT1 nose?

I have a 98 V6 hardtop car I'd like to do a little playing with and since the car needs a front bumper cover, left fender and hood I thought I'd try going backwards with it and put a LT1 nose on it. Anyone done this? I have lots of LT1 nose parts in my inventory and I like the LT1 nose better anyways. Has anyone gone this route before??? Pictures???

You're my hero! I've never understood the the LT1 to LS1 nose conversion. It should always be the other way around like you want to do.

well, I'm not sure how the 98 v6's are setup under the hood.. if it were an ls1 I'd say that you'll definitely have the radiator shroud and airlid clearance problems.as for everything else, umm... not sure.

I have the front half of a 96 body I brought around and set it right beside the 98 and on ly thing that I can find thats different is the top of the core support where the air lid goes on the LS1 hood is slightly deeper for the lid too. Nothing a VFN Sunoco hood wont fix. Bumper is different but who runs one of them anyways. ALL other mounting points appear same...

They pretty much are..
The only LSX anything in these cars should be the Front Brakes and the Drive Shaft. Now if you are not super hardcore LT1..then you might drop in a LSX Engine/Tranny..

Well The prev owner went opposite and put the 98 V6 nose on my car. It doesnt quit fit all right because of the core support is a little higher on the LT1 models but it doesnt look bad. I also like the LT1 nose better as well but i just dont have the funding to put it back to original. In the case of that piece of hard foam behind the bumper mine has the 98 one in there but it still allows my bumber to sag due the where the original LT1 one was mounted was a little lower so if you do do it i would try to see if you could find an LT1 foam absorber and trim it to fit. Just my .02

By the way Camaro or firebird? the only thing that i dont like about the Firebirds was the single dual filament headlight. that is the only thing i would complain about.

Camaro, I love Firebirds also but have never found one when I had any money in my pockets. Pure luck has me owning 5 Camaros 3 Luminas 2 Chevelles and one Silverado.
