True Duals! Pics and Vid
Just finished the new exhaust up on Friday. Pacesetter coated LTs, Jegs X-pipe, Moroso Spiral Flows. Whole thing is 2.5" back from the headers. As you can see from the pictures, the clearance is excellent. It's already been over the largest speed bumps I know of here at Purdue without a problem.
Installation of the headers was a bitch. I did it about 2 weeks ago by myself in my apt. parking lot. Took about 20 hours. There was a lot of cussing, sweating, and bleeding involved, along with very little sleeping and eating in that time period.
The exhaust was easier. Fabbed it under the car, then had my dad(awesome welder) tack it. Then we pulled it out and he laid down the great welds. As you'll notice in the pictures, the x is the lowest part, and it's up as high as it can be with floorboards and the torque arm to limit it. The rear pipes and mufflers are angled slightly upwards, and the picture from the rear shows you how high they sit. Hangers are just solid steel welded to the mufflers and bolted to the seatbelt holes in the rear with longer bolts.
As far as sound, I was running open headers for 2 weeks so it seems a bit quiet. It isn't all that much louder than the Hooker cat-back I had on it before. It IS louder, just not by the leaps and bounds that I had heard it would be. I love it as it is now, and it will be my exhaust of choice for hopefully years to come. The way I see it, there is no reason to run any other exhaust on an F-bod unless you need pipe larger than 3". It fits great if you take the time, and it sounds better than any damn Mustang. She definitely turns heads
The video really doesn't do much justice at all. It sounds SO much better in person.
Enjoy.

I'll get you some pics tomorrow. I don't have a single zip tie on them, and I haven't burned any in the 2-3 weeks the headers have been on. Not so much as a char mark on the wires.
IIRC, I ran them starting from the front. As I progressed back, I ran that new wire under the boot of the ones already in place.
But like I said, I'll put a few pics in this thread tomorrow for you.

What made you skip on the turn downs?
PS: The ground clearance is extremely amazing. Probably some of the best I've seen!

I figured I would see how the clearance worked out first. Then I would put on turndowns if needed. I like how it sounds without them, and I don't have problems with heat back there, so I'm just going to leave it as is. I don't see the need for them now.

I'm in the process of learning tuning myself. I have a laptop, tunercats, datamaster a cable, and access to a wideband. But at the same time, I am also planning more mods sometime soon.
The wires I used are Taylors for like $50 or so from Thunder.

Almost there. 3.42s and a Yank/Vig are up next sometime. Then I really need to work on brakes and suspension before I get inside the motor at all. I'd like to turn this boat into a nice auto-x car that I can open track every once in awhile....All while keeping it my DD for the next year or two.
