Default Few mods on my mind, need opinions and which order would be the best to put them on?

4.10 gears (what brand?)

Torque Arm (what brand?)

Longtube with Y-pipe (kooks) or true dual (i have no idea how)

Sub Frame Connectors (weld or bolt?)

Air Foil (is it really worth it?)

Throttle Body + Intake manifold (Brand + People say not to go any bigger on the throttle body till other serious mods are done?)

TB bypass (what size is the hose so i can buy a connector? )

1996 trans am ws6, btw (see sig)

Personally if it were my car, I would skip on the 4.10 gears in the stock rear if you have any intention of racing, especially with dr's or slicks. It is a waste of money in my opinion. I would start saving for a 9 inch. Heres what I would do:

1.) Free mods

2.) LT's into duals-plugs and wires at the same time. run the duals dumped if money is tight and you have lenient emission laws, other wise save a little extra money and run em out the back over the axle. If your curious about how to do so, go to the true dual sticky in Gen III external engine.

3.) Rear end/Suspension- 9 inch, SFC's, torque arm, etc. as you mentioned

Dont bother with the air foil or bigger TB-the money would better be spent on mods that put out noticable increases, or paying for gas/insurance

This is what I would do personally with the car, though I really dont know your goals with it, as in if you are gonna be at the strip alot with or cruising the local streets. Tell us your goals with the car and we can give you some better insight. Your car looks great, BTW.

4.10 gears (what brand?) Richmonds...They tend to whine a little but are the strongest gears

Torque Arm (what brand?) UMI

Longtube with Y-pipe (kooks) or true dual (i have no idea how) Either works fine.

Sub Frame Connectors (weld or bolt?) Bolt on because you can always remove them if need be. And if you're worried about the bolts coming loose then have a shop do tiny spot welds

Air Foil (is it really worth it?) NO!

Throttle Body + Intake manifold (Brand + People say not to go any bigger on the throttle body till other serious mods are done?) No need until you throw some heads/cam in your motor.

TB bypass (what size is the hose so i can buy a connector? ) look on www.shbox.com you dont need to buy a connector

I've used motive 4.10s in both my cars, no whine and they're plenty strong. Richmonds do whine though, alot.

The closest dragstrip for me is a haul (englishtown), so I was planning on just a street car.

Ive been told to do SFCs first, because any mods will make the frame start to twist if i launch hard.

if it were me i would install the subframe connectors. and get the exhaust done first. I've torn two stock torqe arms launching at the track with 3:42 gears but getting a stock replacement was never expensive. bmr has a decent tq arm. i would get the subframes welded.

BMR makes some good stuff, and so does Hotchkis.
Both are well known for thier suspension compenents, I'd buy from either.

And welded subframe connectors are the only way to go.

ok, so ill definitely get SFCs first. and weld them in? can I bolt and weld in? for super ultra rigidity, haha.

as far as the torque arm, i notice it connects to the transmission... why? so it can beat the **** out of my trans mount? Do the aftermarket torque arms bolt to the crossmember, or have their own crossmember?

I got the bolt, then im going to have someone weld em in. Did that so i dont get charged labor for installing the SFC's. Tubed is better, its light and stronger. I went with umi http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...d887322ac44d40

Tubed is lighter and also keeps better ground clearance than boxed. You can get aftermarket torque arms that bolt up to the tranny or ones that will bolt up to a crossmember.
