Default With my Mods would you go to a 58mm TB?

Should I Upgrade from my current 52mm to a 58 mm TB ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see a lot of post that are of the opinion that a 58mm TB is not worth the money, but those post are usually about cars that are pretty much stock. If you had my mods, would you upgrade? If so, what's your opinion on the Professional Products 58mm TB.

My current mods: 1995 T/A: A-4, cc-502, 1.6 rr, beehive springs, 52mm TB, Functional Ram Air, LT, 3" ORY, no cats, 3" magnaflow exhaust,Dyno tuned, 3.42, Auburn Posi Unit, new stock springs, bilsteins, poly motor mounts and bushings, Adj. TA, Lca's, PH, SFC, DSL, RLB, Heads have 3 angle valve job w mild P&P and are gasket matched to the block and intake, intake is already ported to 58 mm. I run on MT ET Streets.

I realize I could use a stall. Been thinking about a Percision Industries somewhere between 3000-3500, but that's about 700.00 not including install. TB is 200.00 and I can do it myself, but if I won't see a gain from a 58mm TB, than I'd just be wasting my money.

I would suggest the stall first then throttle body.

Agreed that a stall would be the better mod of the two, but do my mods support getting a 58mm TB. Not really wanting to spend 2000.00 right now to upgrade the stall and tranny at the same time. Don't really see the sense in putting a new stall in a tranny that has 45,000 miles on it

With just mildly ported heads and cc502 the 52mm is still fine for you.

Go with the stall. The 52mm is good for aroun 450-480 hp with no problems. Besides the stall will be a night and day difference.

I would put a 58mm TB on a stock motor.
But I also run a 4k stall on a bolt on LT1 so............
