Not a daily driver, but im looking to stay on pump gas the motor might be a stock cube LT1 or a 355
Ill be using GM pink rods, and speed pro pistons possably with a stock crank
Just going to ring the **** out of it while being on a budget

This may not be the answer your are looking for but I am running 11.5 with no problems. If you plan on running 12.1 you going to need a pcm reprogram any way so the programmer will know what to do to help from spark knocking.LT1 reverse flow is nice, we can get away with more compression than others on 93 pump gas. Also, I would not recommend the stock internals at all with that much compression.

I agree. I run just under 13:1 on pump gas and can even get away with a 75 shot without any detonation. All in how the car is programmed. I also would agree w/the comment on better internals (something better than speed pro pistons). I would at least do SRP's if not JE's. Just IMO.

Well your dynamic compression ratio is what counts. Run a search for Pat Kelley's calculator. You'll need your cam card and other specs like deck height (piston in or out).

As said above, dynamic compression is more important. I run 12.36:1 compression on 93 octane and I logged 39 degrees of timing with datamaster at the track with no knock retard whatsoever. However I have a cam that bleeds of a lot of the compression.

I am starting to wonder if I can run less octane than the 110 that I am running now after listening to you guys. I dont know the dynamic compression but the static is 13.6:1 but I have a big cam so I might try 50/50 race fuel and pump gas and see how it goes
btw the cam is 264/271 .688/.660
