Default Guide for replacing the A/C Compressor?

Anyone have a guide for quick replacement of the A/C compressor? I wanna see if i can swap on out while im home for fall break. had the car for a year and its time i fix something thats broke, instead of putting a new motor in. Where can i get a new compressor?

you can get a new compressor at any auto parts store. the problem is that you need to be able to evacuate the air out of the system after you have replaced the compressor before you can add freon. so you will have to take it somewhere and have that done.

i just called my local auto parts store and a remanufactured one is 268 and new is 380

i have one for sale that is out of a 95 formy if you are interested in it let me know and i can take pictures and figure a price

u could do the ac delete and save urself some money and weight, unless u really want a/c

you can do a/c delete or air pro here in dallas arear quoted me 235 for a compressor orifice tube and expansion valve which is basically rebuilding your whole a/c system back to new....idk if its a good idea or not but brake fluid absorbs water and i saw a shop by me pour some into the canister(cant think of name) but it absorbs pollutants i think from a/c system...put brake fluid in and air pressure blow it out

It shouldn't just the cost of the freon plus $20 or so.
