Default You CAN fit a ls1 ws6 intake under a lt1 ws6 hood...

With a bit of grinding to the bottom of the lower airbox, the 2 front corners of the lid, and 2 spots on the inner bracing of the hood.

Here's a pic I snapped with my camera phone. I'll throw up some more pics later, I gotta go throw my T56 in right now.

looks nice but I don't want to modify my original hood. How much more power should this give you? Clean install and I like the clear lid.

do a search for streetwarrior96 he has a SUPER KLEEN set up no cutting either
this mod is easier on birds with ram-air hoods.

YOU FIT THAT AIR BOX UNDER YOUR LT1 RAM AIR HOOD?! I was lucky to fit the Camaro LS1 air box under my hood!

if I didn't have the firehawk ram air box already, I would do this mod. I just can't see any gains to be had over the factory ram air setup. Maybe I'm wrong? I know it's a definite upgrade over the typical lt1 intake setup.

The way the LT1 Ram Air hood is set-up with the factory baffle, airflow is significantly restricted to the point where it really benefits you none, in my opinion! The baffle is literally a solid wall where the air must be forced under and over it to reach the top of the air box and by this point any benefits are lost with the turbulence of getting that air to the air box. Plus, this set-up royally screwed me with an aftermarket hood designed like the LS1 WS6 Ram Air hood, but with the same over the top flow to the air box. It left tons of rain water in the air box that was designed for this hood.

The LS1 WS6 Ram Air Hood is much more efficient and directing airflow right to the air box from underneath! I am sure that I can I get that aftermarket hood of mine to work with the air box I am now using, I just have to fabricate some rubber like flaps to halt rain water but allow air to pass through the air box, and in addition, I can use the SLP LS1 cold air induct to create a second passageway for airflow, combined, the turbulence should force air into the air box and help to create more power out of the motor. So, I am very happy I switched my factory ram air box over to this smaller Camaro LS1 air box. That aftermarket hood will be tight from the looks of it but it should clear the air box, I hope.

Quick Reply: You CAN fit a ls1 ws6 intake under a lt1 ws6 hood...
