casting for intake is on either the pass or driver's side by the injector bosses last time I checked. If it was out of a 93 Vette and the fuel rail crossover was in the rear then it's definately not an LT4.

Castings off heads I think are under the valve covers.

I think the LT4 motors only came in the '96 model year Vettes.

GS was one, but the LT4 was also an option for the others. I've seen them before.

Came on 96 GS Vettes and SLP put together some f-bodies, anyone claims otherwise they are full of crap.

Now a LOT of people MISTAKENLY think the LT4 stuff is wonderful and a lot of cars have been modified by adding those parts, but not by GM.

In 1996 6,959 Corvettes were built with the LT4. There were 110 Camaros and thirty Firebirds built in 1997 (including prototypes). All LT4 cars had manual transmissions.

The LT4 is a very good piece, but works better at higher RPMs (like the LS1).

I think that you could get a 6speed in a 96 without the LT4.

I stand corrected, I knew that all LT4 cars were M6, but did not know that all LT1 cars were A4 in 96. Goes to show that you learn something everyday.

The heads will have LT4 cast on them. Look in the valve cover through the oil filler cap. The block will still be 327 but about everything else will be different. Heck, even the bottom of the pistons says LT4.

You are correct. All M6 vettes in 96 were LT4. All autos were LT1.

That would be the part number, not the casting number.
