Default Walbro keeps making noise?

OK so it makes the normal racket when the key is first turned and it primes.
Yesterday I noticed though that I can hear a electronic buzz faintly from the pump while the car is running. Is this normal? Perhaps its always been like this and after all this time I'm just noticing? I forget when I had it put in, but its been maybe 6 months. Fuel pressure gauge seems to be reading normal, cruise control on sits around 38 psi, WOT shoots up to 41-43, on heavy decel it goes down to 35ish, still 38-39 at idle. Well let me know, maybe I'm just paranoid and had the stereo low enough to notice for once or something. I also have both rear plastic panels off, although I didn't think they really quieted noise down in the first place and those have been out of the car for a while also.

Walbro/racetronix harness.

I wouldn't worry unless it happens again. It could be a fluke or your going insane. Maybe your speakers picked up a signal, although I'm guessing you removed the rear speakers since your panels are gone.

Hmm my car only has that Bose box out back, I've never had speakers on the sides.

So I shouldn't be able to hear any pump noise at all then during normal operation?
I'll drive the car tonight when I get off work and see if its still doing it.

Right, you shouldn't hear the pump over your exhaust. I sure can't with this Loudfart.

Didn't drive it today, but the exhaust isn't quiet by any means. Maybe tommarow I will have the time to see if its still making noise.

I have a walbro on my TA and i know that it whines all the time, it runs fine but when your sitting still with low idle and no stereo you can hear it faintly....sounds like a tiny supercharger. Nothing to worry about really unless its a sound other than that or is pretty loud.

how much gas do you have? if its low then it will make more noise. also if you generally drive with the tank on the lowside it maybe that the pump might be burning up (slowly so don't think its gone) b/c they use the gas in the tank to keep the unit cool and if its low then it maynot be completely submerged meaning its getting hot.

Ah! I also have the back seats out.....

Nope, gas is full, I typically don't let it get down below 2 gallons either. First time I heard of the pump getting hotter if there is less fuel in the tank, I would think my factory unit wouldn't have lasted 155k then? Anyone ever hear this before? I know its really bad if you run completely out of fuel. That leads me to believe that fuel running through the pump cools the pump and not if its submerged in fuel?

Kaoz, thats pretty much what mine sounds like, I can hear a faint whining sound.
Glad to hear that you and Merv hear it too, I'm not the only one.

Well i figured it out. When I unhooked the battery when I swapped the starter I forgot to set my radio up the way I like it. Oh hey I can't hear the little whine from the pump anymore. So I probably just hadn't heard it til now cause normally the little Bose would drown it out.

I should have figured it had something to do with the fact that the back seats were out, all my Honda pals with the pump in the middle of the floor, you can always hear that ****.
