Dave DiLuca (SLED28) on the boards.

Ive sent a few guys his way, he has some pretty sweet grinds that make sick power.

There arent many LT1 grinders around, good luck.

Bret for sure. If your already going that route why not talk to Lloyd Elliot as well? Him and Bret work together on cam and heads combos. eportworks.com. Still addicted to the LE2, now I just need the $

I really wanted to run the AI 224/234 that you are runnign but I dont want to rev my car past 6300 and after looking over and over your dyno runs, it seems like Id be leaving alot on the table.

I tried PMing SStrokerAce but he doesnt recieve PMs or is banned or something, anyone know an alternate way to get in contact with him

let them know that, mine is on a 110 lobe sep, so maybe a wee bit less duration on a 112 will give you the rpm range your looking for. I have no problem reving my motor beyond 6300, ill be shifting at 6500-6600 for the most part, but i understand your concern. I only asked for a cam thats a bit bigger then the GM846 and beat the ground, never told them anything about rpm range. The more you tell cam designers the better they can suit your needs. Good luck man

That makes no sense. You change the RPM range by changing duration or how much advance/retard is ground in.

A friend is running one of their cams just a tad smaller, full weight Caprice, big driver, 32-3300 stall, 3.73s, 87 octane Creech tune, 8" steel wheels all round, usual intake and exhaust, stock iron heads with 1.52 rockers, 160K or so on the motor. Ran 13.5 when we attended the big Impala gathering in St. Louis(almost 500 mile drive each way), it was 105F, track temp was 130+f and the stroker cars with more popular heads and cam packages were running 13.1-4 after getting off trailers. At this point that car has been running that cam for a year and a half as an every day year round daily driver, I call that reliable.
We did put a higher pressure spring in the oil pump that is it for shortblock modification, not that I think higher pressure is important just that I thinkl there is a good chance that over time a stock spring can get weak and no longer deliver the presure it was designed for.

Did i not mention a bit less duration? The 110 LSA is a little less street friendly so a 112 would help out a bit on that as well. So yes...i did say what would change the rpm range But what do i know

I tried to contact them buit they seemed like they didnt want to deal with me unless they are positive im gonna get something. Which is completely understandable seeing as how busy they probably are and it be a waste of time to talk to every tire kicker for a long time. But Im hoping I can get a cam grinder to actually discuss it with me and give me some info before I blindly jump into picking one.

But I do now AI does good work, Zlovers dyno showed me that, thats a hell of a cam to make that power at that size with that bad of a miss up top, so Im still keeping them in mind.

I know if i ever put heads on this car AI will have a hand in them.

dont mess with a custom cam, get a pocket port and a 3angle valve job, with a smaller cam than you would normally pick. yeah your heads are "touched" but are you gonna try and win a cam only prize for most power or times? Usually not.

Rather do a good cam now and then good heads later (probably Ai stocker or AI Darts) and have two GREAT parts instead of two hafl assed parts.

Also all the porters around here are pretty expensive so it would double the cam budget

Fix that miss so we can see what the true power of that cam is!

WHAT?! Please dont give out bad advice

A custom cam is suited to YOUR PERSONAL NEEDS

It can be small or big, and is always better than a off the self out dated stuff

Yah I agree. The CC503 revs to right were I want it to and makes about the power I want but with a custom cam they could probably get the same results with a slightly smaller cam that drives better (at least from what Ive seen) and then I get to have my cake and eat it.
