Default look at this pic of my cam timing

does it look right because everything seems to be a pain in the ***. i have other threads on this but i cant figure out why my engine is doing this to me. i think im going insane.

In a word? Yes. That is the #6 TDC point, dot to dot and 3 o'clock. Its been covered quite a few times.

I agree when number 1 is TDC both dots should be at the top

ok so if the number 1 piston is top dead center righ tnow then im wrong because it is diffently tdc right now....

it is still installed corectly your just at #6 TDC rotate it and youll be at #1, the only problem youll have if you thought that was #1 would be valve adjustment, the opti will only go together one way.

this also confused me for a very long time because I was so used to the regular SBC, I put my whole motor together thinking that was #1 TDC and had problem adujusting the rockers because I was so confused.

ok thanks and i was jusst told my cam pins not long enough, ?..............
its should be .540,

is there any way to fix this without taking the cam out , i was told to heat it up and pull the pin out does this work.
