Default Can I do this?

I have a OEM water pump I put on the LT1 almost 2 years ago and it has started to leak from the back side it looks like not the weep hole. I'm thinking its leaking from the shaft coming out the back to the cam.

I am thinking about going electric for the fun of it and wanted to know if anyone had an opinon on wether or not I can conver it now that it is leaking?

I assume the kit will end up just pluging the back whole right?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

you plug the hole on the back of the wp then you have to plug the hole in the timing cover

yep, because you will no longer need the engine input. so you get rid of all that crap.

You can just leave the shaft there in case you wanna change back but put a freeze plug on the waterpump.

yep if you don't feel like pulling the timing cover off to plug the hole you can just leave the drive sticking out.

You should take the time and remove the input shaft and cover the provision in the timing cover though, no need for extra stuff.

Good Luck, what pump did you order?
