Do I need a tune?
Alright so I just bought a 1994 Camaro Z28 M6. I was wondering if I need a tune and how much it would put down. The mods are the following:
- Comp 305, the specs are 220/230 .544/.544
- Ported heads and intake
- Scorpion Roller Rockers 1.6 Ratio
- Z06 Injectors
- Pacesetter Headers
- Soon to be no cat
- I'm not sure what muffler it has
- K&N Cold Air Intake
I think that is all motor wise. Let me know what you think.

I will probably get a tune sooner or later but do you think it would be drivable how it is for a while? I haven't really had a chance to drive it since I live in Michigan. Also how much power do you think I am making?

If you have to drive it before you get it tuned, i would suggest goin out for a short drive and do a couple pulls. Take it back to the garage and check the plugs. If they r in good shape then id say its fine, maybe check it a couple drives later to make sure its still fine. Although to gain the optimum driving ability and power out of the car you can always use a good tune.
P.S. I have yet to get a tune with my mods in the sig and have yet to have a problem. I will be getting a tune asap though. But til then shes my daily and drives fine.

you have to be careful not to "wash" the rings from being too rich. alittle richer is better than alittle lean, but to rich can be a problem. i personally wouldnt drive it until its tuned.

Alright I think I am going to get a mail order tune for right now, until I get enough money to get the car dyno tuned. So my question is should I send it to madz28 or pcm4less? Also does anyone have a guess at how much power I am making?

It will prolly be fine to drive around without a tune but your gas mileage and plugs will suffer until you do get a tune. I sent my tune to Ion at Madz28 and he did a really good job and didnt take that long at all.

I'm not sure what the diff in price is between a dyno and a mail order, but unless you HAVE to drive the car (your DD), I'd just save the extra bit more for a dyno tune. I'm sure you'd be much happier with it.
Also, if you bought the Z06 injectors for that # rating, then you'll want a AFPR and an aftermarket fuel pump and crank it up to 58psi to get them pumping out what they should. But only do that after you get it turned. As stated, ring wash is "teh uber suq"

I can't, too many variables for me personally to guess. There's where you sit in accordance to sea-level, and then how humid the day is and I never really saw a definitive answer if you had a previous tune for anything. If it's a BONE stock computer, you could pick up some nice numbers. If you want a number, I don't have any clue how close or accurate of a guess this is, but 20hp from the tune over a totally stock setup. How much from all the stuff you're putting in, I really don't know That's a question for someone else. I haven't dived into my motor yet to have done any research and find what numbers others are making.
