So i bought the mallory 685 and the harness to hook it up to the coil (harness part no# is 29068) but the mallory harness wire are not the same as the wires coming out of the box. the wire on the harness are one green one red one white and one pink. Coming out of the box i have one green on yellow one black and one red. so can anybody help me hook this thing up?

u need to buy the wiring harness plug from jegs and its plug and play after that bro! The harness is 20 bucks or u might be able to get a local shop to order u one so u dont have to pay the 12.99 handling jegs charges!

I allready bought the harness from jegs and its the right one for my car. but the wires are difrent colors

Dang Bro Its Been Over A Year Since I Put One In, I Know U Have To Crimp The Harness To The Wires Coming From The 685, And Thats Were U Are Seeing The Differrent Colored Wires Im Asuming I Thought The Harness Had Color Indicators On The Instructions But If That Was So U Would Not Have This Prob Pm My Friend He Will Know More Than Me About This Daniel6718 Is His Screen Name, White Z U Probally Seen Some OF His Post!

thanks for the help. The reason i bought the mallory harness is so that all the colored wires would match and would be a breeze to tye into the wires coming from the mallory box. if i would have just bought the msd harness i could have done a search and came up with the proper color code to tye it into the wires coming from the box.

the color's coing off the plug are

Purple+green
Red
black
yellow
red small
white
black small
orange
right?

No the wires coming off the mallory box to ty into the coil are yellow, black, green, and red. the wires coming off of the harness or adaptor are red green white and pink with a black stripe.

This is getting crazzy i called up mallory today and asked them why there are diffrent colored wire and whitch one is what and they proceded to tell that the mallory 685 will not work on an lt1. then i told the guy it has an external coil and then he told me that i bought the wrong harness and that they dont sell one for an lt1. I then told him that it is all hooked up and all i need to know is what does the white and pink goto on the box side of the wiring needless to say he could not help me and blew me off saying it wasnt made for my car.
