Default Why is my car not loud?

I've got a pretty well built LT1, decent heads, Cam, etc etc. LTs, ORY and a DMH cutout at the rear pass seat like everyone has. With it open, its still not as loud as a lot of catbacks I hear running around.

Guy at school has a stock GT, with a Magnaflow catback... Louder than mine...

Just kinda odd.

Mine was never that loud until I started running high compression FWIW. What's your compression and what cam are you running?

just go with true duals. Gotta love it when joggers have head phones on and get scared when you drive by and shake their head at you lol. Or you come up beside someone and tap the gas a bit and they jump and scream lmao. Man i wish the snow was gone!

I guess I just expected it to be like open headers. I have no cats by the way.

The cam is 222/224 with 560ish lift I believe. Its been like 4 years since I've seen the spec chart on it.

It is loud I suppose, sounds like it eats babies at idle. It does make people jump when I smack it.

The comp ratio is not much higher than stock, the engine was originally built to be on NO2. But never really needed it.

I always heard running open headers could burn up the valves... sorry for the minor hijack is there truth to this statement?

I've been wondering if running my cutout open would hurt my valves or anything. I've heard that also.

have someone drive your car up and down the street while your standing by the road. see how it sounds. usually it will sound quiet in the car but very loud outside

well the gf does get to drive it sometimes, but I'm always in it with her....

I'd never let her drive it alone.
