Cats?

They Only Help Reduce Polution And Restrict The Exhaust. They Also Quiet Down The Exhaust. I Live In Florida And They No Longer Do Emissions Testing So I Left The Cat Off. If You Go With A Performence Cat Then Listen To What It Sounds Like Without A Muffler. You May Like It. I Heard A 97 Z28 With Twin
Cats And No Muffler And Sounded Great.i Thought The Guy Had Headers And A
Cat-back Exhaust But It Used The Stock Manifolds And Cats.

They are worth so much because they have platinum inside that people extract and can make alot of money from. Only stock cats on vehicles are worth money, hi-flow cats like magnaflow aren't worth anything because they hardly have any platinum and other metals inside. Advantages are the car will probaly sound better and disadvantages are inspection if you have a visual or sniffer.

Only if you have emissions testing or visual inspections like we do here in Houston. I used to run a straight off road pipe, but put my cat back on when they started clamping down. Heard stories of DPS (department of public safety) officers impounding vehicles caught racing when they did not have cats installed upon inspection and the fine was $2,000+, but that's here in Texas. IMO - The 1-5 hp gain is not worth the fine. Just my 2 cents!!!
