Default Autometer guages

hey guys i have a few questions..i know this may sound stupid but i have absolutley no idea...ok first off im getting the following guages...Autometer water temp, oil press, trans temp. My question is should i get mechanical gauges or electric, and how to hook them up on the LT1...the water temp quage is easy...just take out the sensor on the side of the head, and then screw in the mech sensor. My big concerns are with the oil press and the trans temp. any help would be much appreciated! thanks guys!

I went electric and have no regrets. And the closer to the tranny you put the sending unit, the more accurately it will reflect your transmission temps.
Not sure on the other two, I use the stock estimators (can't really call them true gauges) for water temp and oil pressure.
IMHO, fuel pressure is one of the more important gauges to get, since the factory did not even provide an estimator. JMO.

You can but an electrical would be much easier.

there is a port right above the oil filter you can use.

I put a mechanical autometer trans temp gauge in my Silverado and just dropped the pan, cleaned it and had a bung welded in to accomodate the sensor. Good opportunity to change the fluid and filter!

Good luck!!

i put my trans temp in the pressure port of the transmission, also i put my oil temp sensor where my oil pressure sensor is and used a t-pipe, works great, this is located right above the oil filter like one of the guys said already, and yes get eletrical, there isnt much differents, just with mechanical there is a tube going into the gauge if im not mistaken

Yes, I misunderstood your post, I thought you already had mechanical gauges. Electric is the way to go!! With my turbo, I have already purchased (3) Autometer electric gauges.... Boost, fuel pressure & wideband O2
