Nitrous or Gears
So with my M28 Transmission I have pretty much decided to keep the stock gears. I don't want to make my first gear unusable, so I would only be able to upgrade to 3.42's, which I don't think would be worth it. But maybe it would still be a good idea.
And the next option is a nitrous kit. It would only be getting ran a couple times a month, so how much would a set up like this cost? And would I need any additional upgrades other than what comes in most kits?
Opinions appreciated.

Go with the gears first, its a little cheaper, the price of gears and having them installed can get up to around $500-$700. A good nitrous kit will run a little more depending on who and what you go with. The gears though you will feel all the time, where the nitrous is limited to use, plus you got refill the bottle, and around here thats anywhere from $50-$75 a pop. So in few words get GEARS, first, nitrous later.

I was thinking the same thing actually earlier this week. I also agree that gears first is the way to go.
I looked up some of nitrous daves stuff, the plate system along with all the essential safety stuff and gauges plus purge. man I was looking at like 1200-1400, whereas gears are like said 500-700

Depends... I got my full nitrous kit and did it myself on my car and saved a bunch of money. About $560 said and done for a full kit with a digital window switch, WOT switch, Nitro daves switch panel, 10 lb bottle and NX bottle warmer.
Gears are just nice to have because they're always there, yes I realize this, but do they give you an additional 50-300 HP at the press of a button? Nooo....

Nitrous all the way, you can get a baseline kit from Dave for 349.00, its good to 200 shot, you'll be out about 700.00 or so with the kit & a bottle gauge/safety cut-off & Mallory 685 box thats 250.00 bucks, i saw a basically stock 94 Z28 6sp. go 12.61 @ 111 on a 100 shot , ALL it had was a CAI & gutted cat, thats it, he was even running some basic radials on his factory wheels, so you make the decision, GEARS or N2o, you don't need a 1000-1200.00 kit to have fun

Don't get me wrong, I am a hugh nitrous advocate, if you have the money to replace parts as you need, or your motor is built then get the GAS. All I am saying is that granted the stock LT1 can hold a 150 shot easily, but it does wear down. Since you got some bolt ons, I would get gears now, and the gas later, its totally up to you though, I ran gas through a stock rear and blew it. Just my 2 cents worth.

Nitrous Rulz!!! I would have to say gears though. I'm a firm beliver if you have N2O availible you will use it. And if your not firmilier with it bad things will happen.
