Easy - dont do it. The con is the car will most likely not run correctly.
The plus, if the car does run OK, is "no gain". The screen is there to
reduce the air turbulence so the sensor can get a proper reading.

agreed
I actually just bought another MAF because I ruined the screen on the old one. I was going to take it out and datalog the difference in the name of science and destroyed the screen and with my intake setup that did cause problems.

My car won't Idle for **** now with the screen out. Seems to hold a higher idle for longer and takes a while to slow down.

My MAF is descreened, it hasn't given me any problems. Also verified with some TTS Datamaster logs. I don't think it's a good idea to do though, just leave it on.

I'm getting a new oem MAF when I can.

I can GUARANTEE you there are 60 other threads about this already. Can people not read? You're not even a Newb and you still asked this question, that deserves a permaban.

i have descreened mine on 3 F bodys and never had a problem......car has always ran great and each car has ran better than others that have the same mods..... not that taking the screen out did much of anything but it sure didnt make any new problems occur...... but since more seem to have problems than less just leave it on..... it was an old trick in some of the mid 90s chevy mags and maybe it was all for nothing but you would think that removing it would help a lil cause if you cruch it down flat it looks to take up about 20-25% cfm of the MAF...... anyone ever dyno tested it?
