Default Blown Motor?

Ok so me and a friend of mine are going to look at a 94Z tomorrow for him. that has an issue. From what I understand the guy was drivin the car one day and it started blowin white smoke out of the exhaust then died. Was also pushing coolant through the exhaust. I guess they pulled the heads and replaced the head gaskets and it still does it. Start the car and it'l run for like 15 seconds or something then dies. I'm thinking cracked head or block, anyone else ever had anything like this happen? Car has 110K on it. Dunno about any mods or what not until we see it tomorrow, just want to get some ideas now.

Thanks!

definitely sounds like a blown head gasket...... then it sounds like an improperly fixed head gasket the second time around. just cause they did it doesn't mean they did it right.....

blocks rarely just crack.... unless this thing has 1000 hp i highly doubt the LT1 block which is pretty sturdy just cracked.... i'd guess that they installed the head gasket wrong and it never sealed when they started it up the second time and did the same thing...... My buddy had a brand spanking new motor that "HE" built..... (he meaning he's not super bright)...... He put the heads on it and in the first 10 seconds of running it blew the head gasket and started smoke screening the entire neighborhood......

Idiot used wrong head bolts for his heads and the heads shifted on the block the second he started it.....

Yeah, I havent met the owner, but if he is anything like his friend who I got the info on the car from it wouldnt suprise me lol I'm guessing the car hhas maybe an exhaust job he made it sound pretty stock. Would a blown HG cause it to die after about 10-15 sec of running though?

definently sounds like he did the head gaskets wrong. care needs to be taken to get every little bit of gunk out of the treads in the block. i learned that the hard way . cracks are rare but they do happen. if you decide to torque a head bolt when the holes have fluid in them it will crack the block

Were the heads pressure checked and re-surfaced? If not the heads may be warped.

Exactly my guess, he probably jusr slapped on a new head gasket and put the head back on without having it checked...we cant go look at it until next week now though so I guess we'll see...
