Default LT1 vs 335i

someone i know just got a twin turbo 335i and i was looking some stuff up online and they claim 300hp/300tq with a 13.6 in the quarter. im wondering how my car with the mods in sig would do against it. i figure some of you guys have encountered one of these by now and am curious how the lt1s compare. lets hear it

Should be a good race.

The 335i must be a heavy car to pull, which seems to me, a slow time. People here have run 13.6 on a fully stock (freak) LT1.

the car is new to him so i doubt he knows how to make the most of it. hes more worried about putting rims on it. 13.6 doesnt make sense to me either, neither does the hp/tq rating though. that same 3.0L made 255hp N/A. go figure...

im going to wait til after my header install to run him since i have a bad cat

I think they make some sort of comp chip that makes that thing 400hp/400trq which is sick..I drove one when they first came out and they are quick. I think he's gonna nab you from the dig...top end though is a different story. Try and take him up to 120-130 if you can cause thats when you will shine!

I would think that's backwards Elliott. I would assume from a dig that 355i would get taken till the turbos spool, and would have a higher top end (if gearing allows).

my friend owns one it takes exhaust and a chip to get there anything after that it gets rediculous and good luck tuning it. my buddys is close to that if not right at 400 he keeps up with stock bikes 600s we've yet to run it at the track but we're looking at into the 12s their spedos are limited to 155 (dont ask me how i know this lol) their nice cars and you can really feel the boost hit you mid range. . .

the car is defenitly a top end car though but it'll chirp the tires and fishtail like a champ too!

Guess it all depends on the driver and the set up..a LT1 bird with bolt ons, gears etc etc got smoked by one off the line at the track last year and he then pulled on it towards the end

it will be a close race. the main thing about that car is that since it's a twin turbo, most drivers think the spool of twin turbos equal infinite power until redline. that's not true, however. stock, they are rated at 300hp@5800/300tq@5000, but redline at 7,000! a bad driver will try to run it all the way to 7K, and the power will be lost. a good driver won't try to hit the limiter and will use the turbos at maximum efficiency.

Must not mean newer sport bike 600s... they are high 10 second machines at 125ish.

10.7@124 for a 2000 R6.

the info i found online said they're not setup for peak power. they have like 300tq at 1600-1700rpm. is my low end going to drop off pretty bad after the LTs?

You will notice a loss of low end with LT's that's for sure. I wouldn't say a huge amount but yes...some loss.

I know a guy on here who just bought one and at the last track day the best he ran was a 14.6. So I would think you would have no problem if you can hook up/drive. Just my $.02!!! Good luck
