Default ACCEL Opti?

Anyone ever use or know someone that has used the ACCEL Ultra opti? I'm wondering if it's worth a **** or not or if I should just spend the extra money and get the Delco version? The Accel costs $270 vs. $320 for the Delco version (unless someone would like to share a place to get it cheaper). Also, someone told me that Delphi is the same thing as the Delco; anyone know if that is true or not?

If you buy the Delco (for more) you can take off the sticker up front and you will see the Delphi label underneath it. Also you can buy a new Delphi for $230 on ebay, just look up "thepartsslaadi" store on Ebay. Hope this helps

Get the Delco one. Myself along with many others have tries Accels out with not so great results. Mine came apart inside within 2k miles.

I saw that and that's why I asked. I wasn't too sure if they were being honest or just B.S.ing. Thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks, I've heard too many people say that so I guess I'd better listen!

The opti I have now still works fine. It's the original one and since I've got the motor broken down I figured I'd better replace it now rather than have it go out on me in few months or a year or whatever.

What usually goes bad in the opti's? Is it the cap and rotor? I've seen the MSD cap and rotor for about $150 or so, what about that? Would that be just as good, or should I just stop asking questions and replace the whole damn thing?

Thepartssladi (The parts ladi?) is probably only one of a handful(being generous heh) of trustworthy Opti sellers. As well as a very good source for stock parts for F-bodies.
