just got the new setup in and wont start
I recently installed a new engine into my 95 camaro and the thing cranks and fires for two or three seconds and will not stay running and it seems that it will only fire after I let go of the key any help would be appreciated the car has ported heads and a .56o lift cam is it something with the computer I have good fuel pressure and volum but it seems that it runs out of gas or something?

Other than what's mentioned, I'd heck TPS voltage and IAC counts (scanner). Other than that, only thing I can think of ATM is timing, but I believe 95s can't be mis-timed with how the opti installs.
Since you'll REALLY want a tune, might as well get that too and make sure it's not the computer for some reason, but even then it should still be able to start it and idle.
Have you tried opening the throttle a bit when starting?

yes I tried to open the throttle a little and no real diff than it seems to run out of gas quicker. I don,t know what the tps voltage should be and I don't have a tune yet I wanted to get to some what running and get a dyno tune. there is no sec light on I thought about that also.

Meangreeney, Is it 1 -popping running lousey and dying out or 2 - running clean then dying. 1 could be crappy opti pulses, but they should throw a SES code and fans s/b be running, did you use your old opti on the new engine ? 2 - could be fuel, the ignition off-to-on signals the PCM to run the fuel pump 2-3 secs and builds up pressure to start the engine. After it kicks over the PCM picks the Fuel Pump Relay to run the pump. Do you still have good pressure after it kicks over, if not could be relay or PCM signal to relay. I had problem number 1 that ended up being WP oil seal letting oil seep into the opti and onto the harness connector.

Man that thing is running pig rich. I'd get the specifics about what the previous owner had all done to it, and what is still the same now, then get a new tune.
But first I'd see what code is flying to make you fans be on.
