Default Just recieved my DART PRO1's

Just got these bad boys in the mail today. Turns out my stockers were warped, so I figured I'd dish out a few bucks to buy these. Look how purty

I have a question for you Tech people. What would my compression be (using impala ss gaskets, i believe .29)? The block is bored .030 over and the combustion chamber of these heads is 58cc. Also, what would my motor be considered in cubic inches and in liters?

These are going in this weekend

355 cubic inches and to be specific 5.82 liters. Very nice looking heads. Looks like Dart went to the double quench pad like AFR did.

If someone was to find your compression ratio they would need the following information.

1. CC of head and you said 58.
2. Bore and you said .030 over so 4.030"
3. Stoke assuming standard would be 3.48"
4. Thickness of head gasket and you said .029. Not sure that is correct for the Impala head gasket.
5. Bore diameter of the head gasket. Someone should have that.
6. How far from the deck is the piston at top dead center? +,- or zero?
7. Flat top pistons? How many CC's in the valve reliefs?

I think that is it.

1. 58
2. 4.030
3. 3.48
4. 0.029
5. 4.1 I think
6. un-altered block, so im guessing +0.017
7. Stock-type pistons, so im guessing 4.5

Hurry up and get those bad bishes on there and dyno it so we can see some results They look good, I can't wait to have the cash to do those heads with some porting by Bret. Turns out that my LE3s survived again so I have some time before I need some heads. You should also try to find a different cam, just a suggestion mabye you like the hotcam

Post some more pics of the exhaust ports if you can.

any pics with a header gasket up against the ports?

A couple people, as well as myself, have been real interested if the D shaped headers will cause a restriction to the head port or if the curved D part of the header port will just extend out further than the exhaust port on the head and cause no real issues.

Here's a pic taken from another thread to show the D shaped exhaust port... maybe it'll help illustrate what I'm attempting to ask.

BTW I think you could go with a larger cam and still easily pass the ole sniffer to make better use of those heads (more power).

With the information given I come up with a compression ratio of 11.057:1.

actually i havent even checked if they fit or cause restriction! lol i was just so quick to buy new heads i looked past all that stuff. im gonna take a pic now. and as for the cam, emissions i could care less about (i have no cats and she runs rich all the time).. but its the time and money as i explained above. neither of those justice my actions towards a cam swap )= poor college student here

it looks pretty flush on there. only at the bottom the gasket sticks up in the port about 1 or 2mm.. not a problem though.

They look pretty good. They look a little rough in a couple spots, but that could just be the pictures.

Via Desktop Dyno's CR calc, I got 11.06:1 with 4.5cc total relief and 10.47 with 9cc relief under the assumption of 4.5cc per valve. With tweaking since it's valve relief option is horribly bugged, you'd have a CR of 22.88 with 4.5cc total relief and 20.27 with 9cc relief. The more realistic numbers are using the Flat Topped setting with the 4.5 and 9 added into head chamber CC.

I'm pretty sure stock is 56cc, so that might be why you're back @ stock CR. I get 10.58:1 (which is what I've read from a few people on here being in the range of what you'll get with Impala gasket) with 9cc or 11.2 with 4.5cc.

camera is horrible.. the heads are smoothe as can be (just a few aluminum chunks i had to pull out lol).. Formula350 thanks a lot for that info.. valve relief is 4.5 so i take it my compression is 11.2?
