With all cars, theres either a threaded plug at the top or on the side of the rear end somewhere. Some cars even just have a little rubber plug near the top of the rear end that pops out.. Cant remember where its at exactly on the Fbody, havent had to get under mine for awhile (thank god, spent too much time under there already ).

To drain it you just simply undo the bolts to the cover and let it drain out. Bottom ones first unless you like to get wet

Sounds like you could have a Bearing about to come apart..

As far as the Plug.. don't worry about taking that out, I have a easier way.
Just get 2 Quarts of the Gear Oil(and the additive for the Posi).
Get the ***-end of the Car in the air and support it by the Chassis.
Let the Rear Axle hang down so you can crawl under there.
Remove the ABS Sensor on top of the Axle Housing(10mm Bolt) and use that as your fill point.
The trick to it is to cut the end of the spout on the Oil Bottle to about a 1/4" opening, and hold your finger over it while it's up-side down, then quickly slide it into the hole on the Housing as you remove your finger. That is how I filled mine.
The Moser has a Vent Tube on top of the left Axle, I do that the same way.

^^The best part about it too is if you do it right.. you don't even have to hold the bottle.
Just let it start to drain a little bit, then take some Wire Cutters(Dikes) and put a little snip in the side of the bottle so it can drain quickly and vent at the same time-that's another good trick too..

You've seen all the work I do..I take my lazy tricks when I can..

There's ONE flaw with Merv's way, and that is, the hole on the pumpkin is positioned just right so that oil starts to flow out when it's full. If it takes EXACTLY 2qts, I'd be amazed heh I think it's more like 1-1/2 though.

The plug is on the pass side, about mid pumpkin. It's a standard square 3/4" drive, like your ratchet, so just put a 3" extension on the end and you're set.

If the rear end breaks, typically one would purchase a 9in or 12 bolt ;D

Or another 10 bolt and blow it up again!

At least it will be cheaper, until your around the 5th or 6th 10 bolt

True, thats the route I would take. Just kidding about blowing up like 6 10 bolts, who the hell would want to replace a weak part 6 times
