whats your spending limit? i would start with a set Longtubes/ORY,catback and a CAI. then from there 3200/3600 stall and 373s and a tune. that shoudl be more then enough to get you into the mid to high 13s. theres always nitrous to

I would def get the gears changed, but sadly your speedo will be way off then and would need a tune. If you know anyone with tuning software and a cable, you could have it done. Call dyno shops, they might do it for a few bucks considering what it is.
Spending limit is really a must know for us to help heh
I pretty much agree with 3rdgen, start with the bolt ons. I'd go with CAI and Catback first. I went from 3.23s to 3.42s for gears and even that small jump was quite nice, and I notice it on the highway, more pep. 3.42s are very easy and cheap to come by due to being in all the M6 cars, so I'd do that for gears. You'll need a new carrier (well there are gears for your style) and if you don't like the 3.42s enough, then you'll be 1/2 there for what you want. Stall is a good choice as well, but if you want it a daily drive, I'd keep it under a 2800. Since you mentioned weekend, the higher stall would be nice.
Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, you could do a cam swap. You'll need new springs too, and a tune, but you'll be quite happy with it. Then once you get headers that'll open up even more power. I'd probably get it tuned for headers even if you didn't have them yet, just so it doesn't have to be re-done. The impact from having it tuned for them, and not yet having them, won't be bad. It won't have it's potential reached, but it'll still be fast as heck heh

TB Coolant Bypass
Cold Air Intake
3" Catback
Mailorder bolt-on tune.
If budget permits, Longtube headers.
That ought to get ya started and the mods are portable to just about anything you do in the future.
Drag Radials, stall and 3.73s won't add HP, but they will really wake it up at the track.
