been through a 4.10 already. put the stock rear back in. welded tubes and cover on both rearends.

only way to make a stock rear "stronger" is to weld the axle tubes and put a cover on it. if you decide to weld the axle tubes be careful and go slow, you don't want to have any deflection or turn the tubes while welding.

Aren't the tubes already welded to the pumpkin?

Congrats ryan! The old 10-bolt just put another hashmark on the sides of camaros everywhere!! Another one bites the dust. Get another stock one...be easy on it until you can get a heavier duty rearend. Any money spent on a 10bolt is just a bandaid to the real problem...keep the gear ratio low also...it'll help.

Yep was thinking in terms of ratio numbers I guess...you know what I mean.

Dont go off and put 4.10s in it!! Mid to low 3.xx ratio is what I was thinking.

4.10 is a lower gear than a 3.23 would be...I understood what you were saying.

Actually 4.11 and 3.90 gears are some of the strongest gears.

The Gears are strong, but they do very well in applying the Torque to the ground, and that is what blows up the 10 Bolt.

I killed an aftermarket one that I put in after I killed the stock one. It went out in a glory of a 8" wheelie and shattered all the teeth off of the 2 center Spider Gears.

To solve that I invested into a Moser 9". I would suggest that if you intend to build up that M6 Car.

i broke one full tooth off the pinion gear and the next 3 in a row were cracked and on their way to break

this was with the stock 3.42's M6 and probably about 300 rwhp (haven't dynoed since it put down 271 dead stock)

i wish i wasn't in school and could drop 2500 on a 9inch

ya im trying to decide what to do. i rebuilt the motor last year n stroked it to a 383, i figured it was just a ticking timebomb, i havent got the cover off yet im not sure how bad it is in there. sounds pretty bad though.

Are the moser products any good? an does anyone know how they compare to stock?

^^You're not going to break a Moser 9" with that 383..the basic setup I got will out-last my 402 and T56 easily..
