Default new tick mc squeaking after 400 miles

alright guys i installed a new monster stage 3 with a new tick mc and slave, everything feels great, im still getting use to the new clutch. the car has about 400 miles on the new setup, now the new tick is squeaking as i push the peddle down, i bled the slave and used 2 bottles of prestone dot 4 fluid and its still squeaking, not only that but the fluid still comes out black.

ill give tick a call monday morning and see what they say but untill then does anyone know what it could be.

You have a new MC and slave, and your fluid is BLACK Now, are you sure your MC is squeaking and you are not getting some clutch chatter during break in instead? I would think that is the case.

i double checked, its the master cylinder, i got under the dash and pushed the clutch peddle down with my hand while the car was off and it still makes that squeaking noise.

what sucks is that im about 2hrs away from home and the freaking peddle is starting to get mushy, if its not one thing its another.

Have you checked for leaks? Are you losing fluid that you know of? Did you check teh pivot point under dash, and maybe it is just the pedal *** that is making teh noise?

A lot of times the squeak is from the bushing being worn at the pin rather than the master itself. Squirt a little lubricant on the pin and bushing and see if that fixes that squeak. As for black fluid with new parts? No clue man

i looked underneath as best as i could but didnt see any type of leaks, i havent seen any fluid missing either, i disconnected the rod from the peddle and pushed the rod in and the damn thing still squeaks. another thing that is getting me confused is the peddle getting mushy

I was going to ask if you put any grease on the zerk fitting on the rod but if you are pushing it by hand then its not that making the noise.

As for the black brake fluid I cant imagine why, I installed my TMC with new fluid but still had the old slave with the little but of fluid that was in it and after about 1500 miles my fluid is still clear.

Well. it is like this. If you disconnected it, and still makes noise, you can rule out pedal ***. Might be defective. Im sure Tick will have no problems getting another one if that is teh case.

I am inclined to think you MIGHT have that, an issue with th MC. If everything is new, fluid is black though, MC squeaks (and not pedal ***.) and now pedal is getting mushy. It can still be other things of course, but does sound like a MC problem.

no chance that the squeak is an isolated issue and not important but the mushy pedal and dark fluid is actually your slave cylinder?

Yes, could be. You know, what you could do is, IF, you still have the old MC, and IF it was still good to begin with, you COULD put the old MC back on, and give it another go with old MC and new slave, and see how it flies then....

if you have time on your hands you could just drop the trans and inspect the slave... I've never seen a blown slave but I would guess that it would show signs of leaking...

I am also noticing some squeaking coming from my Tick MC, I will be changing my fluid today, my MC has like 3,000 miles on it - still works great. I will be following this thread closely.

I had almost lost all respect for you.

Has Tick addressed this issue yet?

The squeaking, not the pedal ***.
