Default Another Monster Level III Track Day

So I got the car to the track finally. For anyone that doesn't know, it's been a long time coming. First the LS swap, then installed the 9", then the LS6 clutch didn't work so I upgraded to the Monster Level III lol... so it's been one thing after another with this car. Next thing on the list is going to be chassis/suspension tuning because the car just wouldn't hook up with the Nitto DR's. But, I will say that the Monster Level III was flawless all night. As other Monster owners have said, it grabed like a **** even though the tires woudn't lol.... The Monster didn't give any signs of overheating even when hot lapped. So far I'm very impressed with the drivability and track manners of this clutch.

Kind of embarrased about the crappy ET, but I ran a string of 11.7X @ 123.

Thanks man, and yes, the car def has more in it. The track I went to was completely dead (less than 25 cars running all night) because all the big tire cars were at another track for the taping of Pinks. No big tire cars = no track prep and no rubber down.

Here's the run, you can hear the tires spin half way through 2nd gear also.

I had an LS6 clutch (ie not LS7) that would NOT disengage at high rpm's and the pedal got real stiff. It was a bad pressue plate.

Very nice to see our clutch doing well! Get that thing hooked up and you'll see 10's!

Shoot us some pics and a write up, we'll get you on our featured Monster list!

Mike

Thats the exact symptom I am experiencing. I ordered the stage 3 premium package, just waiting for it to be delivered.

Well,, I should say the internals of the master are stock. The stock actuator rod has been modified to be adjustable in length. Being an LT1 car (with LS1 engine/trans), the clutch pedal stroke is in a different location than the LS cars, so I either needed the adjustability in length or replace the pedals.

No drill mod on mine but if I ever have it out again, I'll probably go ahead and do it. Or I might replace the entire line with an aftermarket piece.

Thanks Steve, if I can get her to hook, she'll be at least a .5 second quicker.

I'll send you some pics and a write up soon and thanks for the offer.

Thanks man, you'll be on the site tomorrow!

As for the hydraulics, all of our stuff is designed to be used with stock hydraulics, however, due to the nature of the stock hydraulics we highly recommend a more beefy unit, like the Tick!

Another update here. I made some tweaks to the suspension, tires and chassis. The car is hooking up a little better now so the et has dropped and I even gained some trap speed. Still got some work to do on the suspension but it's getting closer to where it should be running. The ET Streets helped a bunch on the traction but the tires still wouldn't hold anything over a 4000 rpm clutch dump.

Once again, the clutch performed FLAWLESSLY as usual. I can't say enough good things about this clutch other than it just flat out works!! Drove it to the track, and drove it home afterward.

60' - 1.815
1/8 ET - 7.459
1/8 MPH - 97.83
1/4 ET - 11.434
1/4 MPH - 124.67

Doing well I built a new motor last fall. My first complete motor without supervision. So far it seems to run well.( Ai long rod 355) I hope to make around 440whp when it's all sorted out. Then I'll hit the track.
I'm glad yours is running well. I hope to post some track times before it gets cold here.
Kory
