Default Brand new Spec Stage 3 clutch slipping a little bit?

Well this past April I put a Spec Stage 3 in the car, it now has maybe 4000 miles on it and has been trouble free...up until recently. Every now and then when I give the car gas, the clutch slips a little bit, so I let off a bit and its fine after that. I noticed it does it mostly 5th and 6th gear when I am on the highway, I will go to pass someone without downshifting, give it a bit of gas and it slips, I let off the gas, then try again and its fine. Any input?

did you install the shim??? did you check if the chim is needed??? my spec 3 went 7500 miles then did the same thing. upon re installing the stocker i found that the shim kept pressure on the pressure plate causing exterme ware. after installing the stock clutch and reading this >>> https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-tr...need-shim.html <<<i realised the shim killed the clutch...i re installed the DEAD spec and sure as **** the slave measurement was greater than the pp...ALSO some slaves when rebuilt....like autozone,oriles,advance...they machine the bottom of the slave making the measurement different then stock killing specs assumed measurements. I now just bought another spec 3, ya kno why??? cus this time when i properly install it i know it will last....

01, I got your IM and thought it would be easier to post a response, that addresses your issue rather than IM'ing back and forth. It is possible that you had a measurement difference that eliminated the need for the shim. It is also possible that air in the hudraulic system caused this as well. Have you pulled the clutch parts out yet? Do you have pics of them? If so please either email or post them so I can better assess the situation. Also, it would be great if you could provide the thickness of your stage 3 disc. This will evidence the amount of wear present. Also,What flywheel was being used? Let me know and we will go from there. Thanks,

I have read enough of Spec-01's posts to know that it will be handled, so I wouldn't worry.

Alright really glad to hear, alot of weight off my chest.

Thanks for the response, I have not pulled the clutch yet as the car is my DD at the moment and I have no spare car as-of now. I take it there is no fixing it unless I do the whole job again, im going to go see if I am able to get access to a lift and go from there. Thanks again!

Unless this is happening as a result of air in the hydraulic system, that can be helped by bleeding, there isn't much that can be done. Check the fluid and see if it is clean and clear. Though i doubt that this would be the issue based on your described symptoms. When ever you get the parts out let me know. Thanks and feel free to contact me with any further questions.
