Default 1k + HP T56 Who builds them?

Thats right people im looking for a t56 that can hold 1k+ hp in a f-bomb. Price in the mid 7k range or lower. Im looking at a th400 swap but I want to see if anybody built a six speed that will live with 1k hp. Oh and this is not a drag car so it wont see any drag racing... Only on the three beep race way

Don't use G force, there is a horror story about that company. Do a search. Rockland Standard Gear makes a trans that will hold up to 1,200 HP and 1,000 FT LBS. $8,000 + last time I checked. You can build one for less.

I've heard these are basically the same gear sets.

A T56 with stock gears, Viper mainshaft and input shaft probably could handle the power depending on the weight or the car. Its more the torque rating you are looking for instead of the horsepower rating. Keeping the car light as possible will help the transmission live as long as possible. Keeping the shimming inside the unit within spec is also something that will need to be done. In another words, a unit behind that kind of power will require maintance every so often and at a much closer interval than your regular old street car.

Finish Line Transmissions is a site sponsor, I'd call them up. I'd also look into some of the shops with high power shop cars. Call them up and see what they are running.

I feel this is the key to making the T56 hold up to high hp cars.

I have read that post, very good info but im done with scavenger pumps lol. Ill just do a th400 with a gv out back. I can get that done with some of the price quotes I had from some people on a six speed. Just seems like straight cut face plate trans missions are it, alothough i love the way they shift but thats too much noise and business in the cockpit. The th400 is proven over and over again on holdin the hp Im going to push, And I will just use the gv for crusing long distances.

Thanks for the links and info everybody

I know Gen414 asked a similar question about a month ago. I don't know if he ever got an answer. He was looking at the Tranzilla but everyone says it's overpriced but I have not had any experience with that type of high end stuff.

I know Tick Performance builds some good stuff. Their stage two kit is suppose to hold 650. I think they have one maybe to higher stages than that but I do not know what they hold.

I think it's awesome you have that much power and want to keep a stick.

Go out and kills some supras and some terminator mustangs.

Best of luck to you sir.

I just thought of this. Isn't there a new trans that Black Bird is using? I think it's a 660 or something?

Might want to talk to these folks also:
www.keislerauto.com

They have a "Road and Track" T56 that can be used clutchless and has straighter cut gears.

If this is an LS motor and isn't going to be a drag car, you might want to checkout my hybrid project post also:

I got a bargain on the core, but still used a bunch of brand new parts and fit it into a $1600 budget.. An alternative if you DIY..
