Mcleod bellhousing for LS1 T56 (totally wrong part?) Please take a look!
I ordered a Mcleod bellhousing for my 98 Camaro with an LS1/T56. I received it and thought it looked wrong but I mocked it up and it appeared to fit. It is totally wrong. The depth of the bellhousing (if I remember correctly) 6" thick whereas my stock aluminum bellhousing is 1 -1/2" thinner. These measurements are in reference to the distance from where the bellhousing bolts to the block and then bolts to the T56.
Take a look at my pics. It doesn't even have a cutout for the slave hydraulic line and bleeder.
I called them and told them that I got the wrong part and they sent me out the same thing.
The part# on both boxes is 8710-00. I am thinking that this is for a Viper which (I am pretty sure) has a longer input shaft and they just missboxed it. My slave cylinder would need to be shimmed 1-1/2" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post# 29 indicates the McLeod is 0.4" longer than stock, which would put it about 5.9" and reasonable from what you're saying.
Read the entire thread and make your own decision. If it were me, I'd return the McLeod and order a quicktime.. YMMV
