Just ordered a quick time, it is ALOT lighter.... There were troubles with both, on had holes in the wrong place (QT) and the other had several fitment issue's(Mcleod) I figure if both had, have, or may have problems, being it's a drag car im going for the lightest one...

I know they originally came with an aluminum plate and the current steel plate looks to be just a spacer that provides no protection whatsoever.

I could be wrong though.

Now tell me this, which unit is lighter?
also how much weight is this going to add? I will have to purchase one of these as well and I have to see what I can do, to take weight off, if this adds weight...

in my research so far thats true but the plates that guard the back of the engine with the mcleod it is steel and the quicktime aluminum. steel wont give and aluminum will with ease plus the aluminum plate is thin and the mcleod steel is pretty thick.

But if this, too is referring to saving my legs, then it would be worth it...
But I think this part is for the engine..
Why couldnt they use Titanium for weight savings and strength?!

Although I have a brand new motor, its sad to say. I dont think its worth the extra weight to ave the motor, if my flywheel were to somehow damage it...

i went with the quick time. Both are sfi rated, quick time is lighter, and it seems like all the McLeod's had fitment issues. As far as the motor plate, i'm not saying it doesn't matter to me but the big reason to have a sfi approved bellhousing is personal protection. The motor getting trashed wouldn't make me happy, but i would take that over personal damage.

I may go with the quicktime, when I go ahead and get my clutch, and even better that its not gonna have fitment issues..

Well, it would require more than that, and titanium isnt as strong as you think, its strong and light, but there are steels much stronger... at the same thickness, just alot heavier...IMO, it would take at Least a $150-175 piece to cover it.. As mentioned before, I could care less about the motor, as long as my feet are still there if the clutch lets go....
