I have used Lakewood's in the past and they are very heavy and I felt very confident that if the entire transmission blew apart, it would go no further than the housing.
Depends on personal preference, I guess.
This time around, I am using Quicktime with my LS2/Jerico. Recommended bellhousing from several different Super Stock racers. Everyone I talked to said to use Quicktime.

I just got my Quicktime today, and it is a really nice piece. The plate that comes with thq quicktime is steel, NOT ALUMINUM. I'm not sure what the big deal is with the plate anyway, isn't the flywheel going to cover most of the back of the engine block? Or....does it matter because the plate is supposed to be designed as a structural accessory to the bellhousing?

COuld you do me a favor and weigh the quicktime?
Someone in this thread already told me the weight, but they may have changed the product with steel now instead of aluminum... In that case, I still want to go with the lighter one as long as theyre SFI,... Unless the ligheter one is like 2 lbs lighter and $100 more... or some crap..

i have heard form many sources including mcleod. that the mcloed is .52(i think) inches taller then the stock bell housing. so the proper way to use the mcleod. is to get a imput shaft built around your bellhousing. like get a viper one and not have it turned down so much

The plate is .120" thick according to my chinese digital caliper.
The bellhousing itself looks to be about .192", so that comes out to about 3/16".
I didn't have a scale to weigh anything, but the box that everything was shipped in was 31lbs. I've heard the bellhousing weighs 28lbs, so I'd say that is correct with the two packs of bolts that come along with it.

Running a quicktime myself and it was .060 longer than the stock bellhousing. The Mcloed unit is .400 longer than a stock bell shousing, I had both at one time and measured them out of couriosty.

There was a great deal on a group purchase we just missed on. I want one too so maybe we should start a thread asking for another GP? I would have bought one had I noticed but it kind of slipped under the radar there...
From what I've seen in my searches the past few days the quicktime piece looks like the better unit so thats what I'm after
