Default Video - faceplated t56 on street

Video is kinda weaksauce, the camera got burned out by the bright sunshine and due to the length [5min +] I had to kill quality but it should give you an idea of what driving on the street is like with a Faceplated trans once you learn how it behaves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycRalwp5Beg

Important Details:
Tick Performance - Faceplated T56 with Viper output shaft
Tick Performance - Master Cylinder
Monster 11" Race Clutch

And obviosly:
CARTEK 4XS Heads/Cam

Sorry for the months and months of waiting with a very anti-climactic ending lol.

I was going to ask about that lol.... Looks like it just takes a little bit of seat time to get the timing down.

You should not shift a faceplated trans w/o a clutch unless you have a sliper clutch.

If you are driving around town and shifting a stock T56 w/o the clutch you are either:
a. Retarded
b. Ignorant
c. About to have a falure
d. All of the above

Yes, stays in gear when not under load. Ill try to get a vid of some highway stuff perhaps. But when its 90F out and 95% humidity I would not be cought dead in a fire-jacket and helmet inside a black car at the track lol.

Just for those that do not know if you double clutch on the upshift it will not clunk like that.

1 question I have is do you always just downshift like that (normal)? And if so how many miles on that thing so far? I am trying to get the downshifting down to where it does not clunk either.

Not sure I am understanding your question Busa.

There is probobly about 250 to 300 miles on the trans.

Do you just push clutch in and grab the next lower gear? At the end of the video it seemed you were bliping the throttle so it did not clunk but in most of the video you just grabbed a lower gear.

That's a little harsh. Or are you just trying to stirr up ****?

always blip the throttle. I find that double clutching aside for being funny in The Fast And The Furious takes way to long.

I do tend to stir **** from time to time. But in this case I'm just being harsh. Think about it... What would you call shifting a transmisssion which is designed from the onset to be usd with a clutch without using the cluch? I call that stupid to say the least.

People always wonder why I was able to run a bone stock trans way into the 10 launching at 7000 and shifting the same with over 400 passes and others' T56s fail much sooner with less power and less track use. The answer is simple I don't do stupid **** like shifting a synchronized trans without a clutch. I use it like it was designed to be used.

So call it harsh, but watch, that guy will be posting abot which rebuild kit he needs to buy within 6 months to a year.
