Buying a T-56..which to order help!
Car already has a T-56 but it would cost to much to rebuild, it's that bad inside! I'm between the choices of ordering a T-56 Magnum but knowing I would have to shorten my driveshaft? So it would cost me more than it already is. Also seen RPM's Level 5 T-56 for about $2300 with the option to upgrade to the viper mainshaft for a additional $600 which puts it at about $2900, about the price of the magnum. Need help plz! Go with the Magnum or RPM's deal? Have a new Monster lvl 3 clutch/tick master waiting

D&D Performance said I would have to buy the offset shifter for the magnum so the shifter would be back in the same location in a f-body. Also, they will also supply the slip yoke for 31 spline output shaft that the magnum has. I believe that is all the fitment issues when putting into a f-body.

Ive been running an RPM built Level V T56 since 06, and its been GREAT!! Rodney, and Todd really stand behind there builds, and the customer service is incredible!
My trans is their Viper spec Level V with the micropolishing. Only thing youll need with the viper spec, is a new yoke, and you can get it from them. Its been so long, dont remember if it was extra. Had it installed on the d/s, had it balanced (just to be safe) locally, and been running strong ever since! Its even been in two different cars.
No driveshaft shortening, just the yoke, and u joint and its a direct bolt in!!

No its not. Its just a beffed up T56 wider gears etc. Call D&D for more specs. One problem is that its very new - so there is no "aftermarket" parts out for it yet.
The one i bought has the 2.66 1st gear because the other trans 5th and 6th are too low for me.

You do need that offset piece its about 200$ and the driveshaft needs to be shorter. I can take a measurement of the trans tail shaft if you want.
