Best shifter!

I've seen this question asked so many times before. The simple answer is that it all comes down to personal preference. I've driven just about all of the aftermarket shifters and I personally like the Hurst Billet the best.
If I were you, I'd try to find some locals in the area with aftermarket shifters and maybe try to get them to let you drive their car to see what suits you best. The next best option is to buy a used aftermarket shifter and try it out, if it doesn't suit you, sell it and buy another.... By purchasing the units used, you'll save a lot of money up front, and if you sell it you should get most/all of it back again.

I bought a Hurst cause I thought my stock shifter was getting "chunky". Turns out I had a B&M shifter and some springs were broken. I measured the throw and both were 4.25" but the Hurst was about .5" taller then the B&M. I like the Hurst better.
