Default Bang when coming off the clutch quick??

I have an 02 TA WS6, Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before. The other day I was driving I came off the clutch quick just driving a little aggressive from a stop, as soon as I came off of the clutch I heard a pretty loud bang come from the back of the car, any ideas what it might be?

Are you sure the sound came from the absolute rear of the car. If so might be bad rear end. Broken gears, etc.
Check your Trans mount if the sound came from under the rear part of your console. Sounds like a broken trans mount.

a few things to check:

-trans mount
-torque arm mount
-torque arm bolts
-control arm bolts
-u joints
-play in rear

my ring & pinion developed a lot of play and would clunk if I let go of the clutch too quickly, but could very easily be something as simple as loose torque arm bolts or u joints

get under there and grab the tailshaft of the transmission and try to shake it side to side, up and down......if it's the trans mount, you'll be able to move it a good bit

ya sounds like the trans mount. Mine was ripped up when I took it out.
there a bumper on the top of the trans that hits the floor when that happends. I bent the "T" on my stock mount to lock it better so it only moved like 1/8 that helped for a few days till I changed the trans mount.

That happened to me to, it makes a lot of noise inside the car when you take off and stop.

my other big symptom there was the trans would rise a lot, but that was due to a crapped out mount too.

I had the same exact issue as the op described when racing and shifting hard 1-2-3. When you let out the clutch, there's just a violent bang coming from the rear. The "low trac" light would even come on with the 1-2 shift-and I don't have tcs. My thing is, I changed all the torque arm mount, trans mount, but it was really cold out when it would do that and I'm on nitto drags. I'll have to test it out again since it's getting warm to see if the colder weather affected it or if something is up with the UMI lca's.
