Default Is this is Trans Breaking or the 10 bolt.

Well I was driving back from a car show today and hit a 1-2 and heard a pop. I pulled off to the side of the road because I couldnt move anywhere and I figured it was the 10 bolt that broke (I was driving on drag lites and radials.) I am trying to diagnose the problem real quick and I noticed that when it was in gear and I was trying to move the drive shaft wasnt moving. When I hit the shift it did feel like something gave out in the trans.

Its a tick level 2 trans with a viper second gear. Clutch is a monster stage 3

answered your own ? driveshafts not moving but does the speedo work when you let the clutch out. if it does it's the output shaft in not it's internal.

The car wont move there's no way to test it that way. I am gonna drop the drive shaft sunday to see if I can spin the rear manually.

well when its on the ground the car stalls. It goes into every gear fine but will not move a inch. I guess ill jack it up and see if I can see anything. Everyone has been telling me its the trans or the clutch though and the 10 bolt is fine.

on the ground if it free wheels and driveshaft moves it's the rear. free wheels and shaft don't move it's trans but if it stalls it's probably the rear locked up. you are saying in any gear won't move but tries to stall?

Yea It will go into any gear fine but If I cant take off or it will stall. We can push it though so I dont know if that means the rears locked up but I think its the output shaft

No I didn't try that. If it backs up what would that tell me. As you can tell I am kinda new to trans work.

a broke tooth can lock up the rear if you back it up sometime it will fall out. but if you can push it around it might be the trans.
