SPEC 3+...Four seasons & "STILL" going strong
Have been posting yearly as seasons wind down in order to note the performance of my SPEC 3+ clutch.
Have adjusted the clutch master cylinder a bit as she ages. Still holding strong. Car is driven hard during a season, Spring, Summer & part of Fall. So, a season for me is similar to a full year for a normally driven car minus the total number of engagements. I do rev match & try not to slip it, which helps lengthen its' life. Although, a dyno operator did slip the **** out of it while taking up his 45* ramp even though he was asked not to .
Anyway, it is an excellent clutch. Pay attention to the install dimensions & they will last a good long time.

Just wait, it will burn you. Then Spec will say you either put the disc in backwards or hung the transmission input on the disc spline while installing and bent the disc.

2thousand2, if you feel that you have been wronged some way then you are welcome to contact me directly. We have countless customers that use our products without issue, I am sorry that you had a problem.
Rob, we have never and would not ever pay someone to start a thread. Perhaps you are confusing us with someone else...lol!

I have posted the SPEC 3+ clutch performance yearly, as the clutch has aged & will continue to do so. There are members (who understand how to install a clutch) who will benefit from my updates. If there had been an issue, it would have been noted & then worked through accordingly. When she finally does wear out. I will post how long it lasted & how it was used. Then it will be replaced with another SPEC 3+ product.
Really don't understand the "just wait" comments. Why after being used for FOUR years would anyone expect anything less than to replace it if it had been toast? The **** doesn't last forever & it is a wear item. So, WTF?

NBM, I don't recall his situation so he may not have spoken to me directly. I am simply trying to assess his issue and concern. If we assessed the parts and found that the issue was not warranty related there must have been evidence supporting this. Of course, it seems that the mentality of "I have an issue and it must be the parts" is common though not often justified. But you must be right...darn me for trying to help! Lol!

I hear you. I don't remember his exact deal but I know the clutch had very little mileage on it and he was told (prolly not from you) that he either put the disc in backwards or use the input shaft to basically hang his tranny from during install. We have both installed a ton of clutches before and that seemed like the biggest cop out possible.
On a side not I had pretty much the same issue with my 3+ and you guys took care of me. Think I actually spoke with you. So same issue and 1 person got taken care of and the other was told "nope bad install" makes it hard to be a "fan" anymore.

LS1450 congrats on having your clutch last this long, please share with us what you do differently than us to properly install your clutch. I went off the directions, silly me.

You obviously aren't very observant. Power to weight ratio is in my sig, moron. There's only 1 LS vehicle noted in the sig. Not at all difficult to find. Next you'll be asking "what does power to weight ratio mean?"
The biggest issue I've seen posted where members have trouble installing an aftermarket clutch is when they don't take any or the proper measurements. Not all clutches have the same build up dimensions & when not confirmed & then accounted for, there are issues. If you understand how to install a clutch, no one should have to explain this to you; directions or otherwise.
This years' results are posted. Will post again @ the end of next season.
Your WELCOME.

I'm on the mobile version chief, no sigs to read. I'm sure you measured out your clutch and everything before you installed it. You're just a dork that's gotten lucky with a piece of **** clutch.

NBM, Every situation, and every part returned, is examined on an individual basis. You seem to be under the impression that your issue and 2thousand's issue were identical and that the cause was the same. This is assumptive at best because without seeing the parts side-by-side (or without having an RMA# to reference with the details of our findings) there is no way to know for sure.
Additionally, as it has been shown countless times, more than one issue can lead to a similar problem. For instance, if your problem was the result of a manufacturing/materials issue we would have taken car of it. On the opposite side of the equation, if his issue was not a manufacturing/materials issue this would not be inherently covered. If you both have RMA#'s to reference I will be happy to look into our findings as they are documented internally. Let me know. Thanks!
