Default When I pull the trans, should I replace the tailshaft seal?

Car is up on jackstands and the trans will soon be coming out to replace a bad slave cylinder. It was always recommended to replace this seal on old school clutch swaps, etc.

Anyway, I don't see too much talk of replacing this seal when people are are pulling their T56s. Maybe it's just understood that the seal will be replaced? So, should I change it to keep it from leaking after reassembly?

Okay, one vote for "replace" one vote for "leave it."

the seal is just a dust cover as far as I am concerned and the bushing is what holds the trans fluid in.

I never thought about it this way. Maybe someone else can chime in on this?
