Default How to install a B&M shifter?

UPDATE: Issue - post 9

Sorry, but Im tired of sifting through every thread that mentions B&M...

Im installing a clutch tonight along with a B&M shifter. I cant find any documentation on the shifter whatsoever. So I have to ask, which way does it go in and how do I adjust the bolts for the stick throw (and the bolts on the base to the tranny)?

TIA

The bolts that bolt it to the trans have off set washers. They are off set so you can position the shifter to your liking. IIRC the throw set bolts are not needed on a t56. I remember the instructions saying to back the bolts almost all the way out put the car in 3rd gear and screw the set screw till it barley touches the lever then back it off a turn.

So basically I back the adjustment bolts all the way out, put it in gear and screw in until it hits the shifter (then tighten), correct?

Question though, is it possible that I might over throw the gear? Im guessing not since the adjustment has been said to not be needed...

Thanks so much!

Once the set screw touches the stick, back it off a little bit

I have also heard that it should have a business cards width between the stick and the stop bolt.

Thanks guys. Got it adjusted and seems to be working quite well. I love how tight the shifter feels and how close the gears are! Great investment, never go back

Have an isssue after reinstalling the center console. When I go to reverse the shifter hits and rubs against the shifter hole. I would like to get this taken care of before I order any stuffs for the shifter boot. Any ideas?
