What do you guys shift your built transmissions at?
So im getting torn between the two between tick stage 3 and rpm stage 5. Its all coming down on price after i talk to both parties. My question is how high are you guys shifting both of these transmissions? I would like to get the triple cone synchros but is it really worth the added money if people are shifting with the double cone fine.

I used to shift my stock t56 at 6900-7100 with stock hydraulics and a Textralia with no real issues until the end... and I suspect the master cylinder or clutch because the clutch wasn't always fully disengaging.
Then I went auto. lol
Now I'm going back to a t56 and its a super low mileage stocker with a McLeod RXT in front of it... we'll see how it works. I plan on shifting around 7,000 again.
IMHO, assuming the tranny is in great shape, I'd be more worried about the clutch and hydraulics setup than I would be about which type of synchros you have.
**edited because I can't type**

If it's really just coming down to price I would consider the guys over @ TDP (Texas Drivetrain Performance) They do great work just search their name on the forum. I'll be sending my T-56 there in a couple weeks. Probably doing the stage 2 with triple cones and gto gear set

I recently shifted mine out to Tick for a stage 3. The free shipping was every enticing although looking back, a Stage2 was probably all I needed. I'm still waiting to hear back if they received it though, UPS said it was delivered on 22Jan. I'll probably give them a call tomorrow just to confirm. But from the forced induction thread about their own LT1 build it sounds like they are a bit busy. I just hope they build my trans at least 1/2 as good as how their car is looking!

shifted my stock t56 at 6800 rpm, stock ls1 boosted, for a long time. held up absolutely perfect when i had it. I have shifted my RPM level V trans and Monster stage 3 clutch over 7k a few times (but have stopped due to crazy traction issues, and just short shift the car to keep it going strait) and its pretty bad ***. I personally have an RPM unit, and it is stout as hell, holding up to my car just fine, and im pushing around 800hp in street trim right now. Bad *** product IMHO
