Default 4th gear grind only when going into gear HELP

My 4th gear started to grind all of a sudden for the past few days..

Its like a crunch/grind when going from 3rd to 4th amd once in it drives normal no more grinding.i useally have to double clutch it to go in 4th gear.
When I go from 5th to 4th THERE IS NO GRIND and it goes into 4th smooth.

Could this be a bad syncro or clutch related? car is a 2002 z06 corvette with the M12 transmission

Most likely a bad synchro.

Are you rev matching when down shifting? When was the trans fluid flushed, I'd start with putting fresh Dex 3 in there and see if that helps.

No im not rev matching when downshifting and honestly im not sure when the fluid was changed and never thought about it..ive owned the car for the last 10,000 miles and it just started to do this..
IM going to get the fluid changed out in a couple more days and hopefully that fixes the problem

UPDATE:
Hey guys
Well I got under the car and drained the transmission oil to replace it with the amsoil Torque-Drive, im not sure what kind of transmission oil the previous owner put in it but when I drained all out it looked really clean so I was haveing some doubt that the amsoil oil would do any help..BOY was I wrong.i filled it up with the amsoil oil and I immediately felt the difference, im talking about a hot knife slicing throw a stick of butter difference. I have so far put about 200 miles on my z and the shifting just gets better and better. I know it's not all in my head because ive used amsoil in my infiniti g35 and couldn't tell any difference at all but this Torque-Drive stuff in my z06 transmission works wonders.
I just wanted to let everyone know that this stuff has worked very well for me and got rid of the notchy feeling and grind so it might help you guys transmission issues as well.
I also changed the diff fluid out while I was at it.
Heres the oil im talking about

I have nothing but good things to say about Amsoil in my manual transmission! Along with the power steering, brake fluid, clutch fluid, and oil.

Hmmm I might have to try this, ive had some similar issues in my t/a I just picked up, shifts into 2nd just fine when im liesurley driving but when I get on it a little bit and go for a fast shift like I use to in my 96 I get a grind but it still goes right in. I just replaced the stock shifter assembly with my hurst factory assembly and while it feels better to srive still does it.
