Default GM P/N T56 output shaft seal?

I've tried many searches on this site and the greater web and for some reason am unable to find the actual GM part number for the output shaft seal on the T56. I have the 98-02 Fbody T56.

I found lots of other part numbers but prefer to get the GM OEM seal if it is still supplied.

Anyone have a part number available?

Thanks

Why would you pay dealer pricing for an output shaft seal?

Because I already replaced it once with a local part store version that leaked and now that I know what a giant PIA it is to do on my car due to custom frame and torque arm suspension in the way I don't want to do this again.

Thanks. I saw them doing my search and was tempted to buy it but its not an OEM seal and they charge almost $10 dollars for shipping. Plus I was lied to by Tick on a previous purchase so I don't want to give them any money if I can help it.

If its leaking, you probably have a worn out extension housing bushing.

My local dealer wanted $70 for the OEM seal. I laughed all the way to NAPA where I bought the same part for about $20.

Why are you holding out for the"OEM" seal from a dealer? This is a TREMEC product and the TREMEC seal is 1300-044-019. Its your money though.

Usually true. Though I initially replaced the seal because when I removed the transmission as part of an engine swap I damaged the seal in the transmission. So I was changing it for that reason not due to a leak. Sadly the replacement seal leaked.

Before ordering the 98-02 Fbody adjustable master cylinder I called them to make sure that the hexagon tube that connects the heim joint to the tilton m/c was drilled all the way through and I could shorten it (custom install in a 68 Camaro). I was told yes and when I received the part and it wasn't they said I could only return the part if I paid a restocking fee.

Thanks, I will see if I can find a source for this.

Thanks for all the responses. It is a very minor leak so I haven't fixed this yet. The part numbers will be helpful!
