Default Clutch advice

I'm considering replacing the clutch & flywheel on my '99 SS. The is mildly modified, and generally used for road course events (track days/autox). I'm considering a SPEC Stage 2 Clutch & Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel. Does anyone have any experience with that combination?

TIA

That is not too bad of a combination.

You can also go with the MONSTER which will have the same characteristics in a clutch.

or step it up to a level 3 to match whatever stage 2 spec you are looking at

I think you'll be fine whichever clutch you choose. Both have been proven over the years.

For what your looking for I think there are some better options. If your road racing and autoX the car the aluminum flywheel option is probably the best for you. Check out our full line of Mcleod, Monster, and Sped clutches.

I'm trying to keep the price down because this car is meant as a rag tag track car. I'm also considering the LS7 clutch. Is that safe to use with stock hydraulics on a 4th gen Fbody ? I've read that its meant for different hydraulics (C6) which causing it to drag a bit and break down syncros. Any truth to that?

Thanks

Personally I'd stay away from the LS7 clutch. The Pressure plate is GM's "self adjusting" pressure plate. The self adjusting mechanisms are notorious for failing and causing the clutch pedal to become spongey/sink to the floor.

Buy the lightest clutch you can afford for what you are doin. LS7 clutch's are poop.....heavy as ****. Look into a spec xtrim, qtr master or tilton. You can thank me later.
