Default T56 swap slave leaking

I just finished my t56 swap in my 5.3 firebird. Rebuilt t56, new gm master, slave and pilot, spec 1 clutch and pressure plate, machined flywheel.

I was to the point of bleeding the clutch with the tick speed bleeder and wasn't getting any pedal to form. Looked under the car and the fluid was coming out of the bell housing.

Pulled the trans down enough to hook the master line to the slave and you can watch the fluid leak from behind the throw out bearing on the slave, just by gravity.

I will be getting a new slave to try again, but from other people's posts I see that they go through more than one slave with this problem. I've never seen a solution or something that causes this yet?

Well this sucks... maybe make sure the bleeder isn't completely loose or whatever. and make sure the quick disconnect line is pushed in all the way. I'd be checking everything I could before having to pull that trans again...

I tried the quick connect a few times, it was all good never leaked. Clipped in good. The bleeder didn't leak at the slave and I had the bleeder end in a cup of fluid. It was hand loose.

When I pulled the slave off the area behind it between the slave and the trans was filled with fluid

I found some good nicks on the slave where the pressure plate mad contact. That's where the slave was leaking. Probably the culprit.

New slave is in and I'm in the process of bleeding it. Couldn't get a pedal from conventional bleeding with the tick bleeder so I'll try a mityvac.

I've had issues bleeding a new slave as well. Let me know how it goes!

I had to use a mityvac to start the bleeding, it got most of it done then I finished it out with traditional bleeding using the tick speed bleeder

Good job yeah I had to use a mityvac once also. Get that thing back on the road now!

The clutch releases right at the floor, third gear pops out every time also.

Sounds like you need a Tick M/C and probably a transmission rebuild, popping out of third is probably from a bent shift fork.
